INTERNSHIPS
In 1997, the State of Illinois approved internship hours for cosmetology students. A student may obtain up to 10% of their program hours (150 for cosmetology, 150 for classic barbering, 75 for esthiology, 35 for nail technology), by training under a licensed sponsor in an approved salon. The student, sponsor, and sponsor’s salon must meet certain standards in order to participate in the program.
